Herbal Wisdom, Earth-Based Living & The Courage to Be Curious
Hi, I’m Jodi. I'm an herbalist, soil-stained gardener, lifelong overthinker, bookworm, former corporate warrior, and someone who finally stopped apologizing for being curious.
Welcome to HealWise — a space I've intentionally created for the thinkers, feelers, seekers, and soil-touchers. If you’ve ever found yourself standing at the edge of conventional wisdom thinking, “There has to be a better way,” you’re in the right place.
Here, you’ll find deeply rooted, research-backed conversations on herbal medicine, whole-body healing, frequency medicine, the natural world, our broken food systems, and the surprising ways all of it connects.
You’ll also find practical tools:
❀ Access to my practitioner-trusted Fullscript dispensary
❀ My growing collection of herbal eBooks
❀ A blog filled with musings, hard-won insights, and plant profiles that read like love letters to the green world

From Forest Dreams to Oil & Gas... and Back to the Earth
I didn't grow up dreaming of being an herbalist. In fact, as a kid, I cried over multiplication tables and smuggled fiction novels into math class. I labeled myself “not smart enough”. I carried that belief into young adulthood — skipping college, jumping into a corporate job, and spending 15 years commuting through blizzards to work in oil and gas supply chain management.
I was good at that job. I built a life from it. But I was also slowly unraveling.
Eventually, I burned out — and it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
A New Chapter: Herbs, Dirt, and Doing Things Differently
I left my corporate career and opened a dream shop called The Urban Homesteading Store. It was filled with everything I loved: permaculture, food systems, seed-saving, and self-reliance. That shop felt like home.
Then life shifted again. We moved countries, and I became a certified herbalist. I grew a farm. I worked in hospitals and city government and saw up close what’s really going on behind the curtains of health care and public systems.
What I saw reinforced what I already suspected: true wellness doesn’t come from a pill bottle or a policy — it comes from knowledge, nature, and self-trust.

Why HealWise?
I built HealWise because I believe we all deserve access to empowering, well-researched, and soul-nourishing information. I want this to be a place where you can reconnect to your inner healer, remember your roots, and maybe — maybe — stop believing the story that you’re not “smart enough,” “healthy enough,” or “ready.”
Here’s what you’ll find:
🪴Plant-Based Wisdom: Deep dives into medicinal herbs, fungi, and garden-grown medicine
Herbal eBooks & Courses: Designed to help you grow, gather, and make your own remedies
Fullscript Access: A curated online apothecary of practitioner-grade supplements I actually use and recommend — no fluff, just what works.
Science Meets Spirit: Explorations of how frequency, intuition, biology, and botany all weave together.
Encouragement for Earth-Centered Living: Because the health of our planet is a mirror for our own
Come As You Are
You don’t need a perfect pantry, a background in herbalism, or any special credentials to be here.
You just need curiosity — and maybe a cup of tea.
I hope HealWise becomes a space where you’re inspired to learn something new, get your hands dirty, try a tincture, and make empowered, informed decisions about your health and life. A space that reminds you it’s okay to change your mind, start over, and write a new story — even if it begins with broken bones and a bruised heart.
So if you’re looking for real talk about healing, resilience, plants, purpose, and self-trust... welcome home.
With warmth and a big herbal hug,
Jodi McKee
